Design+Startup is an event series
built for designers, featuring designers.

In the rapidly changing landscape of company creation, the designer's role at a startup has never been more challenging or exciting. If you care about design and are a part of the startup industry, we hope you will join First Round Capital and IDEO for an evening of inspiring speakers, pizza & drinks.

We've invited speakers to share some thoughts on design philosophy, technique, entrepreneurship, and more. This episode will explore the concept of "Telling," where we'll discuss the craft of conveying meaning, be it story, value, or purpose to the appropriate audience. A key ingredient of telling is feedback, the skill of effectively delivering and absorbing critique.

Roshi Givenchi

Managing Director, IDEO NY

But it all really started when she saw a job offer on her pager in the 90s. Roshi packed her bags – and her MFA in Graphic Design/New Media from Art Center College of Design – and head north to help design a news website for the big corporation in Seattle. A few years later, she joined IDEO in California, and has been hooked on design consulting ever since. Whether designing, teaching, or leading a studio over the years, Roshi loves influencing how people interact with objects, space, services and one another, and believes the insight-based story of the design is as crucial to making a difference as the design itself.
